BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM REVIEW

this is one of the best games ever made, i have to agree with ign and g4 and all those other big company's on this one. i never encountered a glitch or anything. the one part that looks like a glitch is part of the story!

the control is incredibly responsive, the upgrade system is extremely satisfying, giving you the tools you need right when you need them, not when you WANT them, you will do a LOT of back tracking during the course of this game,which is OK BECAUSE you will WANT to solve the riddles. its like your game console is feeding you crack so you cant stop playing it, i am serious. i woke up in the middle of the night when this game first came up, because i figured out a riddle i just could not solve! it's that great of a game.

graphics-wise it's really, really good. although the majority of the scenary is dark and black and grey, it just fits. the other characters though bring a little more color/pizzaz (yes i said pizzaz and yes i know only grand fathers use such a word but whatever) like jokers suit, ivy's hair  and plant monsters, and, the joker gang,
bring out the quality of the graphics BECAUSE everything else is dark. if it dont make sense, you need to play it for it to do so.


the story is one of the finest batman stories I've seen/read in a while, and the voices of batman and the joker are the same guys from the animated series i used to watch as a kid! the scare crow sequences are easily the best in the entire game, and  the arkham facility itself is actually quite large, with a super-villain containment area, a green house, holding cells, court yard, small bat cave, and more. the combat is quick, smooth,easy to learn but tricky enough to provide a challenge later in the game, especially when the enemies come out in greater numbers, and bigger sizes. the only disappointment i had was not encountering Mr freeze, or the penguin, or the riddler, however you do come into contact with their cells,business advertisements and, if you solve all the riddles scattered throughout the asylum you call the cops and hear them catch him..

with the sequel coming out soon, this is a great game. and a must buy. if you own a ps3 you can play as the joker which i have not done because i opted for the xbox version because they only had the special edition with the batarang and stuff for xbox left, albeit only in the challenge mode which is quite fun actually, making you use all the fighting moves you unlocked and trying to climb up the ranks in the leader boards for each challenge, the game kicks ass.

plus harley quinn IS EFFING HOT!





all in all this game is: worth every penny!

plus the sequel is coming which should be good, but it changed developers, i dunno but I'm still gonna get it. it will be reviewed after i pick it up
